Security Guard Company in Lodi, CA
In today's world, security is an essential component of life. For individuals, that could mean having a firearm available and a plan of action in place if a break-in or other criminal act occurs. Many business owners in California, however, need more than a simple plan. They need a reliable, proven security guard company in Lodi, CA, that can provide them with the armed or unarmed security needed to stay safe and keep criminals at bay. After all, the reality of running a successful business in California is that nefarious actors will do everything in their power to take what's yours. California's overall violent crime rate increased by 1.7%, from 495 crimes per 100,000 residents in 2022 to 503 in 2023. While property crime fell marginally, violent crimes are up in just about every county of The Golden State.
The next minute, they're up at gunpoint and robbed outside of their storefront. At best, the individual loses money. At worst, they get injured or even die. We've all seen similar on the news. It makes sense, then, that more and more business owners and executives are relying on security guards to protect dispensaries, sporting events, concerts, corporate events, and more.
The peace of mind that comes from having security services is both immediate and enduring. There's simply no substitute for the physical and emotional reassurance of knowing that you are protected-whether it's yourself, your family, your valuables, or your business and its employees. Security officers play a crucial role in providing this sense of safety with their specialized skills, especially in tense or threatening situations. If you're looking for an industry-leading security guard company, look no further than Capital security guard.

Top 3 Reasons Why Customer Service is So Important for Security
One of the reasons why so many clients choose Capital Security guard over other security guard companies in Lodi, CA, is that we put a strong emphasis on customer service. We provide exceptional service not only from our office when clients call but also in the field when our security guards are at work. Here are three ways that our security guards use customer service to create safer environments.
1. Clear Communication
An important aspect of excellent customer service involves cultivating robust communication skills. Security personnel frequently engage with both employees and co-workers. A competent security guard needs to communicate effectively with individuals across various organizational levels, ranging from entry-level staff to the company's president or owner.
2. Staying Calm in Contentious Situations
Customer service skills are essential for effectively resolving conflicts, particularly for security guards who often face high-pressure situations. Their ability to remain calm and communicate clearly can significantly influence the outcome of these encounters. That's why our security guard company in Lodi, CA instructs security guards to implement de-escalation techniques. This approach equips them to handle disputes in a manner that reduces tension and fosters cooperation. By doing so, we ensure that potentially challenging situations are addressed swiftly and amicably.
3. Positive Public Impressions
When security guards excel in customer service, they become true ambassadors for the companies they represent. At Capital Security guard, our security guards recognize that they play an important role in shaping how the public views our clients' businesses and properties. Whether it's guiding a visitor to their destination or calmly managing a challenging situation, delivering excellent customer service makes clients and visitors feel both welcomed and valued.

While we offer a wide range of services, from crowd control and alarm response to access control and perimeter security, some of our most popular services are included below.
Security Guards for Events in Lodi, CA
When you're looking for the best steak in town, you don't go by your local fast-food joint and expect to get anything great. Instead, you go to Pietro's Trattoria in Lodi, CA. When you're looking for a large event to attend, you don't go to a small city in California - you go to LA.
From Coachella to the Academy Awards, Los Angeles and the greater California have more high-profile events than there are palm trees. If you're a guest, your goal is to enjoy the event without worrying about potential threats. On the other hand, if you're an organizer, your priority is to ensure that the event is safeguarded from nefarious individuals and criminal activities. And that, in a nutshell, encapsulates why event organizers hire professional security guard companies like Capital Security guard. Our security guards are specially trained to handle large crowds at events and know precisely how to manage situations to prevent panic from breaking out.
Below are a few of the basic measures that we take at Capital Security guard for event security:
- Each security guard for your event is well trained in how to enforce the appropriate safety and security measures in place.
- All staff are expertly trained to provide medical assistance or contact the appropriate third party.
- All security personnel understand your venue's layout, emergency exit locations, and possible wrong points of entry.
To enhance your event security, we'll first assess the level of security required for your event. Striking the right balance is crucial; while excessive security can make guests feel uneasy, insufficient measures may leave them vulnerable.

Security Guards for Cannabis Companies in Lodi, CA
Running a cannabis dispensary can be both hugely rewarding and sketchy. While there's a huge demand for legally grown cannabis, those who own and operate the stores that sell the plant are often at risk. We're talking vandalism, theft, assault, and other crimes that threaten both customers and employees.
While investing in high-quality security systems can help address these issues, they don't always reduce the likelihood of repeat offenses. This brings us to an important question: Should you hire a security guard for your cannabis dispensary? The short answer is yes. That's true even if you're working there on a daily basis. Why? The truth is that it's very difficult to prevent theft entirely.
Failure to take security measures in your dispensary seriously can lead to significant losses, which can happen quickly. With the increase in daytime crime, potential thieves can easily enter your property and steal products - and that's just the start.
How Do Armed and Unarmed Security Guards Help Protect Your Cannabis Investment?
Well-trained security guards play a pivotal role in preventing the theft of money and property at your dispensary. They help reduce vandalism and protect against assaults. A guard is skilled in spotting suspicious behavior and addressing potential issues before they escalate. It's important to note that criminals are often deterred by the presence of armed security personnel. Plus, because guards collaborate with local law enforcement, it becomes easier to resolve any crimes that may occur at your cannabis store.
Unlike security cameras, guards provide a more effective visual deterrent. They ensure that everyone adheres to the established rules and regulations. Any misconduct by employees or customers can have serious repercussions for your cannabis dispensary. A trained guard not only prevents unwanted behavior but can also take disciplinary measures or legal action if required.
How Do You Know if You Need Security Guards for Your Dispensary?
If you own a cannabis shop in California, chances are you've worked long hours and invested a lot of money into making it successful. But that success can come at a steep price, especially when criminals see what you're selling. Sure, you've installed locks on your doors and taken basic steps to prevent crime. But modern-day criminals are savvy and know how to get around standard types of security. That's where security guards for cannabis growers in Lodi, CA, start to make a lot of sense.
Keep the following red flags in mind. If your dispensary is growing, it could be time to hire security.
- Quick Growth or Increase in Income
- High Foot Traffic
- Lots of Public Exposure and Media Attention
- Location of Your Cannabis Company
- Physical Accessibility

An underrated California wine destination is getting a major nod from a celebrity chef.
Charlie Palmer will open Maison Lodi, a French bakery, cafe and market in the small, rural city of Lodi (San Joaquin County) at the end of January — and he’s not the only notable name affiliated with the project. Palmer has partnered with the owners of Healdsburg’s popular Quail & Condor, Melissa Yanc and Sean McGaughey, to oversee Maison Lodi’s bakery program.
While Lodi is slowly gaining traction as a laid-back and affordable wine destination, the city’s restaurant scene is still largely undiscovered. But Palmer, who has received multiple James Beard awards and whose restaurants have earned 20 Michelin stars over the past 37 years, believes there’s potential to build on the city’s mainstays: Ruby’s Bakery & Cafe, Italian bistro Pietro’s Trattoria and pizza spot Guantonio’s, a watering hole for the local wine industry.

“Several years ago I would have had no idea where Lodi was,” Palmer said. “It’s kind of what Healdsburg was like 20-25 years ago. It’s not something that’s going to happen overnight, but in a couple of years, people will be talking about traveling to Lodi because it's got great food.”
Maison Lodi is one phase of Palmer’s plans for the city’s Wine & Roses resort; his food-centric hotel company, Appellation, recently took over operations and is in the middle of a renovation. Palmer said he’s partnered with Yanc and McGaughey for all of his forthcoming Appellation properties, including locations in Healdsburg, Pacific Grove and Morgan Hill.
Located about three miles outside of downtown Lodi, the anchor of the cafe is a “big French rotisserie,” Palmer said, used to roast chickens — available in quarter, half and whole cuts ($12-$26) — and other meats. Palmer envisions a daily special, like pork loin porchetta and beef brisket. The bakery will carry pastries, including pain au chocolat ($5.50), orange marmalade tartlets ($6) and a persimmon Danish ($6). Patrons can take away baguettes ($6) and other breads ($10-$12), or order breakfast items such as smoked sturgeon salad tartine ($15), a Wagyu pastrami panini ($19), and a spinach and goat cheese quiche ($11).
A market, which Palmer is modeling after “the original Dean & Deluca’s,” will sell grab-and-go products like fresh pasta, sauces, jams and charcuterie.
Maison Lodi is replacing a similar concept called Towne Corner Cafe & Market, and the bright, white and open interior will remain mostly unchanged. The space is shared with the Lodi Wine & Visitor Center, which features a rotating selection of 12 wines each month; Palmer plans to pour a handful of others, so diners will be able to sample local wines while they eat. The cafe will also have local draft beer and nonalcoholic options, including homemade kombucha, coffee and fresh juice.
“What a lot of people don’t know is there’s a lot of fruit grown in Lodi that ends up in Napa and Sonoma (wines),” Palmer said. “To me, that says that the quality is there and it’s just a matter of getting more people talking about it.”

Located between Sacramento to the north and Stockton to the south, Lodi is ideally situated for a weekend visit from anywhere in the Bay Area. This lush farmland that was originally inhabited by the Miwok people was settled by Europeans who came west during the gold rush of the 1850s. You can see flashes of this history when walking beneath Lodi's iconic Mission Arch and through the quaint downtown. While the city has a strong agricultural heritage, producing almonds, apricots, and peaches, its significant winegrape production led to Lodi's moniker, the "Winegrape Capital of the World."
I visited Lodi for a weekend of wine tasting with a friend and was impressed by the top-notch food, uncrowded tasting rooms, and plentiful opportunities for outdoor recreation. With dozens of visits to Napa and Sonoma under my belt, I'm used to dealing with traffic and booking dinner reservations weeks in advance when planning a wine tasting weekend. The exact opposite was my experience in Lodi. Here, you'll find 85+ boutique wineries with relaxed tasting rooms where even dogs (and sometimes kids) are welcome.
Those who wish to visit Lodi with their four-legged friends will find plenty of spots that welcome dogs, from outdoor tasting rooms to the garden patios of restaurants downtown. Here are all the ways to maximize your weekend in Lodi.
Travel time
1 hour and 30 minutes from San Francisco
If you only do one thing: Enjoy a wine and olive oil tasting
Just a short drive outside of downtown Lodi is the Calivines Winery and Olive Mill, where you can book a wine and olive oil tasting inside the expansive tasting room or on the large patio where leashed dogs are welcome. On a sunny day, you'll likely find families playing oversized lawn games and soaking in the vitamin D; plus, on weekends, the property often hosts live music to encourage visitors to stay for a while.
When I visited, we spent a few hours enjoying the ambiance, chatting with the knowledgeable staff at Calivines, making our way through a wine flight, and tasting some nibbles featuring flavored olive oils and balsamic vinegar produced on-site. We particularly enjoyed the pesto popcorn—warm popcorn tossed with Calivirgin Bountiful Basil Olive Oil and Guilty Garlic Olive Oil sprinkled with sea salt.
While most flavored olive oil is made by mixing essences or flavorings with regular olive oil, Calivirgin uses a specialized process where fresh produce, herbs, or citrus are crushed together with the olives to extract the oils from both products. This creates a much brighter flavor profile that's perfect for bread dipping or drizzling over pasta or even desserts. You can sample some of the various flavors at the self-serve olive oil bar or select an olive oil tasting to go along with your wine tasting. Bottles are available for purchase, and they make great gifts.
Fill the weekend with
The best way to take in Lodi's small-town charm is to spend a few hours walking through the downtown area. Head to the Lodi Visitor's Center to grab a map that will show you the locations of the many murals painted for Lodi's 100th anniversary depicting scenes from the town's history. The "Yo Soy Lodi" mural is a recent addition and features Latine members of the Lodi community.
If you want to learn even more about the area's history, book a free walking tour with Lodi's official town docent, Alane Dashner. When we got to the meeting place for our tour, we easily spotted Alane approaching us, as she was dressed from head to toe as a suffragette with a hat adorned with grapes. She shared with us the surprising fact that Prohibition actually benefited the Lodi winegrape industry because a provision allowed all heads of household to produce up to 200 gallons of wine for their own personal consumption, causing Lodi growers to ship their grapes all over the country for home production.
Head out of downtown just a bit, and you'll pass Lodi Lake and the park that surrounds it. There's even a small strip of sandy beach that's a perfect spot to spread out your picnic blanket on a hot day. You'll find a few nature trails and short hiking paths leading from the parking lot that are a fun option if Fido needs some exercise.
If you are looking for a relaxing activity that kids and dogs can join in, reserve a kayak or stand-up paddleboard from the Lodi Boathouse and head out on the lake. You can set out on your own if you feel comfortable or book a private or group tour that will take you through the tranquil Mokelumne River to see birds and other critters that live there. Sunset and full moon paddles are also available, so time your visit right if you want to take advantage of those.
With so many wineries to choose from in Lodi, you'll want to plan a visit to at least a few tasting rooms while you're in town. Dogs are welcome at a good amount of wineries with outdoor seating areas, like Intercoastal Vineyards, which even offers its own canned wine called "Canpanion," a combination of the words "canine" and "companion." The garden setting at Block 21 Winery is a great place to relax with friends and enjoy the floral scent in the air as you share a bottle of wine.
Where to eat and drink in Lodi
To start your day: Ruby's Bakery and Cafe was so good we ate there twice during our weekend in Lodi. The welcoming staff were more than willing to help us choose the perfect pastry. Don't miss out on the Sugar Buns: they have a crunchy-sweet exterior, and the inside is croissant dough with the perfect hint of cinnamon and orange. For a savory option, the rosemary ham and gruyere croissant was a favorite, as was the Avocado Toast.
For a dog-friendly pint: The expansive menu at Lodi Beer Co. will have you struggling to choose just one entree, so we suggest starting with the Deep Fried Brussels sprouts and the Bleu Fries. There's plenty of patio seating that's perfect for pet parents and those who want to soak in the Lodi sunshine. Just down the street is IDOL Beer Works, where you'll often find a food truck parked out front for those who want some food with their blood orange beer or IPA.
For an al fresco dinner: Snag a spot in the garden at The Dancing Fox and get the slightly spicy Mediterranean hummus to share; it goes great with their Old Vine Zinfandel. The wood-fired pizzas are an easy choice, and the Taratata pizza with house-made fennel sausage, salami, and black olives is a favorite.
For post-dinner drinks and live music: DJs and live performers take the stage on Fridays and Saturdays at Five Window Beer Co.. Get a taste of their offerings with the beer flight, and then go home with a growler of your favorite. This spot also offers wood-fired pizzas for those who get the late night munchies.
Where to stay in Lodi
For spa vibes and a stellar onsite restaurant: If you want a boutique property that covers all the bases, Wine & Roses Hotel should be your pick. Not only do they have large spa-inspired rooms (with some allowing dogs), but the onsite Towne House Restaurant has the perfect cozy vibe after an active day in Lodi. We enjoyed afternoon happy hour on the patio with visiting winery Block 21 before our meal. For those looking for ultimate relaxation, book an aromatherapy massage at the property's spa and then head over to the heated pool and hot tub.
Pet-friendly with a pool: I'm a sucker for a complimentary breakfast buffet, and you'll get that and more at Lodi's Hampton Inn and Suites. There's an outdoor pool for guests, and rooms allow dogs and cats (with an extra fee). Book a suite for even more room to spread out. Another great option with similar vibes and large-sized rooms is the Holiday Inn Express. Don't miss out on trying the pancake machine at breakfast.
