Security Guard Company in Long Beach, CA

In today's world, security is an essential component of life. For individuals, that could mean having a firearm available and a plan of action in place if a break-in or other criminal act occurs. Many business owners in California, however, need more than a simple plan. They need a reliable, proven security guard company in Long Beach, CA, that can provide them with the armed or unarmed security needed to stay safe and keep criminals at bay. After all, the reality of running a successful business in California is that nefarious actors will do everything in their power to take what's yours. California's overall violent crime rate increased by 1.7%, from 495 crimes per 100,000 residents in 2022 to 503 in 2023. While property crime fell marginally, violent crimes are up in just about every county of The Golden State.

The next minute, they're up at gunpoint and robbed outside of their storefront. At best, the individual loses money. At worst, they get injured or even die. We've all seen similar on the news. It makes sense, then, that more and more business owners and executives are relying on security guards to protect dispensaries, sporting events, concerts, corporate events, and more.

The peace of mind that comes from having security services is both immediate and enduring. There's simply no substitute for the physical and emotional reassurance of knowing that you are protected-whether it's yourself, your family, your valuables, or your business and its employees. Security officers play a crucial role in providing this sense of safety with their specialized skills, especially in tense or threatening situations. If you're looking for an industry-leading security guard company, look no further than Capital security guard.

Security Guards for Events in Long Beach, CA

When you're looking for the best steak in town, you don't go by your local fast-food joint and expect to get anything great. Instead, you go to Boathouse on the Bay in Long Beach, CA. When you're looking for a large event to attend, you don't go to a small city in California - you go to LA.

From Coachella to the Academy Awards, Los Angeles and the greater California have more high-profile events than there are palm trees. If you're a guest, your goal is to enjoy the event without worrying about potential threats. On the other hand, if you're an organizer, your priority is to ensure that the event is safeguarded from nefarious individuals and criminal activities. And that, in a nutshell, encapsulates why event organizers hire professional security guard companies like Capital Security guard. Our security guards are specially trained to handle large crowds at events and know precisely how to manage situations to prevent panic from breaking out.

Below are a few of the basic measures that we take at Capital Security guard for event security:

Security Guards for Cannabis Companies in Long Beach, CA

Union

Running a cannabis dispensary can be both hugely rewarding and sketchy. While there's a huge demand for legally grown cannabis, those who own and operate the stores that sell the plant are often at risk. We're talking vandalism, theft, assault, and other crimes that threaten both customers and employees.

While investing in high-quality security systems can help address these issues, they don't always reduce the likelihood of repeat offenses. This brings us to an important question: Should you hire a security guard for your cannabis dispensary? The short answer is yes. That's true even if you're working there on a daily basis. Why? The truth is that it's very difficult to prevent theft entirely.

Failure to take security measures in your dispensary seriously can lead to significant losses, which can happen quickly. With the increase in daytime crime, potential thieves can easily enter your property and steal products - and that's just the start.

 Security Patrol Long Beach, CA

How Do Armed and Unarmed Security Guards Help Protect Your Cannabis Investment?

Well-trained security guards play a pivotal role in preventing the theft of money and property at your dispensary. They help reduce vandalism and protect against assaults. A guard is skilled in spotting suspicious behavior and addressing potential issues before they escalate. It's important to note that criminals are often deterred by the presence of armed security personnel. Plus, because guards collaborate with local law enforcement, it becomes easier to resolve any crimes that may occur at your cannabis store.

Unlike security cameras, guards provide a more effective visual deterrent. They ensure that everyone adheres to the established rules and regulations. Any misconduct by employees or customers can have serious repercussions for your cannabis dispensary. A trained guard not only prevents unwanted behavior but can also take disciplinary measures or legal action if required.

How Do You Know if You Need Security Guards for Your Dispensary?

If you own a cannabis shop in California, chances are you've worked long hours and invested a lot of money into making it successful. But that success can come at a steep price, especially when criminals see what you're selling. Sure, you've installed locks on your doors and taken basic steps to prevent crime. But modern-day criminals are savvy and know how to get around standard types of security. That's where security guards for cannabis growers in Long Beach, CA, start to make a lot of sense.

Keep the following red flags in mind. If your dispensary is growing, it could be time to hire security.

  • Quick Growth or Increase in Income
  • High Foot Traffic
  • Lots of Public Exposure and Media Attention
  • Location of Your Cannabis Company
  • Physical Accessibility

LONG BEACH, CA — With the holidays behind us, there’s no better way to kick off 2025 than by hitting the dusty trails to fulfill New Year’s resolutions of staying active and connecting with nature.

Recent studies have highlighted the numerous health benefits associated with lacing up your hiking boots for an adventure.

Hiking regularly can enhance cardiovascular health, strengthen muscles and bones and improve balance. A 2023 study published in BMC Public Health found that participants in a winter hiking intervention increased their physical activity levels, which led to better sleep and less stress.

But it isn't all about physical health. Spending time in nature — especially while hiking — has also been linked to better mental health. According to 2024 research from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, exposure to green spaces can boost mood, reduce anxiety and lower the risk of depression.

Heather Eliassen, a professor of nutrition and epidemiology at Harvard, says even those who live in cities and work indoors can and should try to reap the health benefits of nature.

“If there are some green spaces a short or medium distance from home, try walking or biking to the green space to get the benefits of exercise while getting [there],” she said. “Or, find green space you could incorporate into your commute to or from school or work.”

AllTrails, a website and app that was "founded on the idea that we’re all made better by spending time in nature," makes it easy to find nature areas and hiking trails of varying levels near you. While searching, the website allows users to set the distance, difficulty level, length, suitability and more.

In Long Beach and around Los Angeles County, the website lists dozens of scenic trails — from steep mountainous terrain that can take hours to ascend to quick and "easy" trails along babbling brooks and wildflowers.

How fast is Long Beach broadband?

Long Beach ranks 51st out of the 100 most populated cities in the US for internet speed, according to Ookla speed test results. Residents receive median download speeds of 232Mbps and upload speeds of nearly 40Mbps. That’s faster than Anaheim, San Diego and Los Angeles but slower than Santa Ana, San Bernardino and Irvine. (Disclosure: Ookla is owned by the same parent company as CNET, Ziff Davis.)

What’s a good internet speed?

Most internet connection plans can now handle basic productivity and communication tasks. If you're looking for an internet plan that can accommodate videoconferencing, streaming video or gaming, you'll have a better experience with a more robust connection. Here's an overview of the recommended minimum download speeds for various applications, according to the Federal Communications Commission. Note that these are only guidelines and that internet speed, service and performance vary by connection type, provider and address.

For more information, refer to our guide on how much internet speed you really need.

How CNET chose the best internet providers in Long Beach

Internet service providers are numerous and regional. Unlike the latest smartphone, laptop, router or kitchen tool, it's impractical to personally test every internet service provider in a given city. What's our approach? For starters, we tap into a proprietary database of pricing, availability and speed information that draws from our own historical ISP data, partner data and mapping information from the Federal Communications Commission at FCC.gov.

This guide leverages an in-house artificial intelligence tool called RAMP, which is trained on our own writing and uses our database to generate content about specific internet service providers that our writers can use in determining and presenting our picks for a given guide. Check CNET’s AI policy for more information about how our teams use (and don’t use) AI tools.

Because our database is not exhaustive, we go to the FCC's website to check the primary data for ourselves and make sure we're considering every ISP that provides service in an area. Plans and prices also vary by location, so we input local addresses on provider websites to find the specific options available to residents. We look at sources, including the American Customer Satisfaction Index and J.D. Power, to evaluate how happy customers are with an ISP's service. ISP plans and prices are subject to frequent changes; all information provided is accurate as of our prepublication fact-check.

Once we have this localized information, we ask three main questions:

The answer to those questions is often layered and complex, but the providers who come closest to “yes” on all three are the ones we recommend. When selecting the cheapest internet service, we look for the plans with the lowest monthly fee, although we also factor in things like price increases, equipment fees and contracts. Choosing the fastest internet service is relatively straightforward. We look at advertised upload and download speeds and consider real-world speed data from sources like Ookla and FCC reports.

To explore our process in more depth, you can visit our how we test ISPs page.

What’s the final word on internet providers in Long Beach?

Long Beach residents have a few good home internet options to choose from. Fiber internet is available to 2 in 3 residents, almost entirely from Frontier Fiber. Fortunately, Frontier’s plans start at just $30 a month, far less than you’d usually pay for the speed it provides. If you don’t want to deal with the headache of a price increase, T-Mobile Home Internet guarantees it will never raise your price.

Living in Long Beach offers a quintessential California dream – sun-soaked beaches, a vibrant pier scene, and proximity to the bustling heart of Los Angeles. Naturally, this idyllic lifestyle translates to a dynamic housing market. So, if you're considering buying a piece of the Long Beach dream in 2025, here's a breakdown of the key trends to help you catch the perfect wave.

Long Beach CA Housing Market Trends: What You Need to Know

The Long Beach housing market remains somewhat competitive, with homes typically selling in around 46 days. However, there are some shifts in the market compared to last year, indicating that the market may be cooling slightly. While home prices are still on the rise, the pace of growth is slowing.

The number of homes sold in Long Beach in October 2024 has increased compared to the previous year. According to Redfin, a total of 241 homes were sold in October 2024, a notable 33.1% increase from the 181 homes sold in October 2023. This increase in sales volume suggests that there's still a healthy level of activity in the Long Beach housing market, even with the slight shift toward a more balanced market.

From my personal experience, having lived and worked in the Long Beach area for over a decade, I've noticed that buyers are becoming a bit more cautious in their approach. They are taking their time to find the right home and are not rushing into decisions like they were in the past couple of years. This could be due to the rising interest rates that we've seen nationwide, causing many buyers to adjust their budgets and search for more affordable options.

While sales volume has increased, the growth in median home prices has slowed. The median sale price of a home in Long Beach was $815,000 last month, which represents a 0.6% increase compared to last year. This is a significant slowdown from the double-digit percentage increases we saw in the past couple of years. Although prices are still going up, the slower pace of growth suggests that the market is becoming more balanced, which can be advantageous for both buyers and sellers.

The median sale price per square foot in Long Beach has also increased, currently at $642. This signifies a 4.1% year-over-year growth. This metric reflects the price appreciation trends in Long Beach, showcasing the steady price increases in the market. Based on my observation, this increase is likely influenced by the factors that keep driving demand for housing in the city, like the desirable weather, job opportunities, and strong community spirit.

I believe that the housing supply in Long Beach is still relatively tight. While there are more homes available in 2024 than there were in 2023, the number is not enough to balance the market completely. This continues to place upward pressure on home prices, albeit at a slower rate than before.

According to Redfin data, the average time it takes for a home to sell in Long Beach is 46 days, which is slightly longer than the 37 days recorded last year. This increase in the days on the market indicates a slight cooling in the buying frenzy, allowing buyers more time to consider their options. While it still takes a relatively short time for homes to sell, this increase signifies a more balanced market.

The Long Beach housing market is experiencing a shift from a highly competitive seller's market to a more balanced state. While still competitive, buyers now have slightly more negotiating power. The days on the market are increasing, and the rate of price growth has slowed down. It's important to keep in mind that the market can change very quickly, so keeping an eye on the trends is crucial.

Here's a quick snapshot of the current market trends:

In my experience, these market trends indicate that the market is likely to continue moving towards a more balanced state in the coming months. This doesn't mean that home prices will fall dramatically, but it does suggest a more sustainable and healthy rate of growth.

The Long Beach housing market currently leans towards a more balanced state, although it retains elements of a competitive market.

Buyer's Perspective:

Seller's Perspective:

Overall, it's a good time to be both a buyer and a seller in Long Beach. Buyers have more room to breathe and can leverage the slowing price growth, while sellers can still benefit from the desirable location and strong local economy.

No, home prices in Long Beach are not dropping drastically. They are still increasing but at a slower rate. The year-over-year growth in median home prices is only 0.6%, which is significantly lower than what we've seen in the past couple of years. This slowdown can be attributed to several factors, including rising interest rates and a more balanced market.

However, it's important to note that a slower rate of price growth is not the same as a price decline. The market is still experiencing price appreciation, just at a more sustainable pace. This is good news for buyers as it reduces some pressure on affordability, but it also means that sellers need to be more strategic in pricing their properties to attract buyers in the current environment.

Long Beach CA Housing Forecast 2025-2026

Based on the current market trends, I anticipate that the Long Beach housing market will continue to move towards a more balanced state in the coming months. While prices are not expected to fall drastically, I predict that the pace of price growth will moderate.

Here are some specific predictions:

Several factors influence the Long Beach CA housing market, and it's important to be aware of them when making decisions about buying or selling a home.

1. Interest Rates: Interest rates have a huge impact on the affordability of buying a home. Higher interest rates make it more expensive to borrow money, which can reduce the number of people who can afford to buy a home. As of October 2024, we've seen a rise in interest rates, which has caused a slight slowdown in the pace of home price growth in Long Beach.

2. Job Market: The Long Beach job market is diverse and relatively strong, with industries such as aerospace, healthcare, and tourism. The strong job market attracts people to the area, which creates demand for housing. A strong job market can make the housing market more competitive, and we've seen that continue to be the case in Long Beach.

3. Economy: The overall health of the national and regional economy can influence the housing market. Economic downturns can lead to job losses and reduced consumer confidence, which can cause a decrease in home sales and potentially price reductions. The Long Beach economy has shown resilience in the face of recent economic challenges, leading to continued demand for housing.

4. Demographics: The demographics of an area can also influence the housing market. The population of Long Beach is diverse, with a mix of young professionals, families, and retirees. The diverse population creates a variety of housing demands, contributing to the sustained activity in the market.

5. Lifestyle and Amenities: Long Beach offers a unique blend of urban amenities and beachside relaxation. The city has a vibrant arts and culture scene, along with a wide range of recreational opportunities. This desirable lifestyle attracts people to the area, creating continuous demand for housing and contributing to the competitive nature of the market.

6. Inventory: As I mentioned earlier, the housing inventory in Long Beach is still relatively tight. This shortage of homes for sale continues to create upward pressure on prices. The inventory levels are closely linked to the construction and development activities in the area and the overall economic health of the region.

The Long Beach CA housing market presents a unique opportunity for both buyers and sellers. While the market is still competitive, it is shifting toward a more balanced state with a slower rate of price growth. Buyers have more opportunities to negotiate, and sellers need to be strategic with their pricing.
