Security Guard Company in Santa Clarita, CA

In today's world, security is an essential component of life. For individuals, that could mean having a firearm available and a plan of action in place if a break-in or other criminal act occurs. Many business owners in California, however, need more than a simple plan. They need a reliable, proven security guard company in Santa Clarita, CA, that can provide them with the armed or unarmed security needed to stay safe and keep criminals at bay. After all, the reality of running a successful business in California is that nefarious actors will do everything in their power to take what's yours. California's overall violent crime rate increased by 1.7%, from 495 crimes per 100,000 residents in 2022 to 503 in 2023. While property crime fell marginally, violent crimes are up in just about every county of The Golden State.

The next minute, they're up at gunpoint and robbed outside of their storefront. At best, the individual loses money. At worst, they get injured or even die. We've all seen similar on the news. It makes sense, then, that more and more business owners and executives are relying on security guards to protect dispensaries, sporting events, concerts, corporate events, and more.

The peace of mind that comes from having security services is both immediate and enduring. There's simply no substitute for the physical and emotional reassurance of knowing that you are protected-whether it's yourself, your family, your valuables, or your business and its employees. Security officers play a crucial role in providing this sense of safety with their specialized skills, especially in tense or threatening situations. If you're looking for an industry-leading security guard company, look no further than Capital security guard.

When you're looking for the best steak in town, you don't go by your local fast-food joint and expect to get anything great. Instead, you go to The Social in Santa Clarita, CA. When you're looking for a large event to attend, you don't go to a small city in California - you go to LA.

From Coachella to the Academy Awards, Los Angeles and the greater California have more high-profile events than there are palm trees. If you're a guest, your goal is to enjoy the event without worrying about potential threats. On the other hand, if you're an organizer, your priority is to ensure that the event is safeguarded from nefarious individuals and criminal activities. And that, in a nutshell, encapsulates why event organizers hire professional security guard companies like Capital Security guard. Our security guards are specially trained to handle large crowds at events and know precisely how to manage situations to prevent panic from breaking out.

Below are a few of the basic measures that we take at Capital Security guard for event security:

Security Guards for Cannabis Companies in Santa Clarita, CA

Union

Running a cannabis dispensary can be both hugely rewarding and sketchy. While there's a huge demand for legally grown cannabis, those who own and operate the stores that sell the plant are often at risk. We're talking vandalism, theft, assault, and other crimes that threaten both customers and employees.

While investing in high-quality security systems can help address these issues, they don't always reduce the likelihood of repeat offenses. This brings us to an important question: Should you hire a security guard for your cannabis dispensary? The short answer is yes. That's true even if you're working there on a daily basis. Why? The truth is that it's very difficult to prevent theft entirely.

Failure to take security measures in your dispensary seriously can lead to significant losses, which can happen quickly. With the increase in daytime crime, potential thieves can easily enter your property and steal products - and that's just the start.

 Security Patrol Santa Clarita, CA

How Do Armed and Unarmed Security Guards Help Protect Your Cannabis Investment?

Well-trained security guards play a pivotal role in preventing the theft of money and property at your dispensary. They help reduce vandalism and protect against assaults. A guard is skilled in spotting suspicious behavior and addressing potential issues before they escalate. It's important to note that criminals are often deterred by the presence of armed security personnel. Plus, because guards collaborate with local law enforcement, it becomes easier to resolve any crimes that may occur at your cannabis store.

Unlike security cameras, guards provide a more effective visual deterrent. They ensure that everyone adheres to the established rules and regulations. Any misconduct by employees or customers can have serious repercussions for your cannabis dispensary. A trained guard not only prevents unwanted behavior but can also take disciplinary measures or legal action if required.

How Do You Know if You Need Security Guards for Your Dispensary?

If you own a cannabis shop in California, chances are you've worked long hours and invested a lot of money into making it successful. But that success can come at a steep price, especially when criminals see what you're selling. Sure, you've installed locks on your doors and taken basic steps to prevent crime. But modern-day criminals are savvy and know how to get around standard types of security. That's where security guards for cannabis growers in Santa Clarita, CA, start to make a lot of sense.

Keep the following red flags in mind. If your dispensary is growing, it could be time to hire security.

  • Quick Growth or Increase in Income
  • High Foot Traffic
  • Lots of Public Exposure and Media Attention
  • Location of Your Cannabis Company
  • Physical Accessibility

‘Extreme episode of fire weather’ predicted for L.A. area with 100-mph gusts and ‘bone dry’ air

UPDATED FORECAST: Rain and snow may finally return to California. Here’s when

Damaging Santa Ana winds gusting up to 100 mph and relative humidity as low as 3% will fuel “extreme” fire weather across the Los Angeles area Monday morning through Tuesday evening.

Red flag warnings for critical fire weather conditions have been issued for roughly 12.8 million Southern Californians. The most dangerous conditions are expected in the San Gabriel, Santa Monica and Santa Susana mountains and along Interstate 210 from Altadena through the northern San Fernando Valley, including Oxnard, Malibu, Santa Clarita, Palmdale, Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley and Burbank.

Gusts of 60 to 100 mph in the mountains and foothills and 50 to 70 mph in the valleys will be “supportive of rapid wildfire onset and spread,” according to the National Weather Service. The strongest winds will occur between midday Monday and early Tuesday morning.

“There is going to be a powerful damaging wind event, bringing particularly dangerous red flag conditions,” said Ariel Cohen, meteorologist in charge at the weather service office in Oxnard (Ventura County). “Everyone needs to take the time over the next day to get prepared for this. I know a lot of people have a lot of fatigue from all of the extreme fire weather we’ve had, but now is not the time to let your guard down. You need to be ready for another extreme episode of fire weather.”

Cohen urged residents to charge their cellphones and have multiple ways of receiving evacuation notifications. He reminded people to park cars away from trees and stay indoors away from windows.

“This is not the time to be taking this weather lightly at all,” Cohen said. “We’re on the cusp of another extreme event.”

Mountain wave” wind patterns will probably remain confined to the northern San Fernando Valley and San Gabriel Valley from roughly La Crescenta to Porter Ranch. Damaging winds should stay north of Pasadena on Monday and Tuesday, unlike the night the Eaton Fire broke out, when strong gusts extended far from foothills.

Winds are expected to favor Ventura County on Monday and Tuesday, resembling the pattern of Nov. 6, 2024, when the Mountain Fire destroyed hundreds of structures in Camarillo (Ventura County), according to weather service meteorologist Rose Schoenfeld.

The wind forecast is slightly weaker than Jan. 7, the night the Palisades and Eaton fires broke out, but the air mass will be even drier. Relative humidity is forecast to range from 3% to 15%. Some weather models indicate the amount of atmospheric moisture, known as precipitable water, will be at all-time record minimums across Southern California.

“Bone dry,” Cohen said. “It won’t get drier than this in January.”

Southern California Edison was considering public safety power shutoffs for nearly 173,000 customers as of Sunday morning. San Diego Gas and Electric Co. listed nearly 84,000 customers at risk of power shutoffs.

Little to no rain has fallen across Southern California since April 2024. Severe drought was expanded to include all of Southern California in Thursday’s U.S. Drought Monitor update.

The National Interagency Fire Center on Thursday issued a critical fuels and fire behavior advisory for the Southern California coast, noting dead vegetation is at record dry levels, while live vegetation resembles late summer or early fall-like conditions.

“Prolonged dry conditions, coupled with extended periods of warm, dry weather and frequent Santa Ana wind events, have caused fuels in Southern California to reach unprecedented levels of dryness,” the Southern California Predictive Services Unit wrote in the advisory. “The resultant level of fuel volatility would be notable in summer months, and is extraordinary for January.”

Child & Family Center donation drive seeks to help fire victims

Twenty minutes before the scheduled 3 to 6 p.m. donation drop-off time slot, the Child & Family Center in Santa Clarita already had several tables full of items to help families impacted by the Los Angeles fires.

According to Child & Family Center officials, the mental health and behavioral health service provider joined the Los Angeles-based Baby2Baby nonprofit organization to host a donation drive Wednesday afternoon at the Child & Family Center on Centre Pointe Parkway.

“We’re trying to make this as easy as possible,” said Nikki Buckstead, Child & Family center CEO. “We saw people in the community getting antsy, like, ‘Where can we go?’ ‘We don’t want to wait.’ And also, folks don’t know where to go in L.A. to drop things off.”

Child & Family Center officials put a call out for brand-new items in their original packaging, including training pants for toddlers, body wash and soap, toothpaste, blankets, feminine hygiene products, activity books for children, baby formula and diapers. The center immediately received support.

Longtime Child & Family Center supporters Joyce Carson and Dorum Schleifer were there helping collect the donations that came rolling in by the cartload.

Carson, who was a Child & Family Center board member for years, said she wanted to do whatever she could to assist the center.

“I support all their activities,” she said. “Of course, with the fires, I think everyone out here in Santa Clarita wants to do their part to support our community and our state.”

A representative from the office of Pilar Schiavo, D-Chatsworth, added diapers to the growing collection of goods in the building.

In a phone call, Schiavo spoke about how grateful she was for Santa Clarita Valley residents who were coming together to offer support to those affected by the fires.

“This is why we love this community,” she said.

Saugus resident Miriam Larsen, who works at the Hasley Canyon Road Starbucks coffee shop in Castaic, was at the center on Wednesday donating goods that she and co-workers from her store and the Stevenson Ranch Starbucks location had purchased with tip money they’d collected.

Larsen came with boxes of goods, including soap, toothpaste, snacks and more. She said her store donated Starbucks coffee, plastic drink tumblers and bags that fire victims could use to carry items they pick up.

“A couple coworkers and I were a little upset about, obviously, everything that’s going on,” Larsen said as she unloaded items she was donating. “We felt like we could do more as a community. This is our backyard. We’re part of L.A. County.”

She added that when a tragedy like this happens, she always finds that she puts herself in the victim’s shoes. Doing that immediately allows her to see the need. For example, if she found that she had to evacuate her home, grabbing her work clothes, special work shoes and other basic needs like that would not be on her radar.

Some people lost everything, she said, and so many take for granted the simple activity of sitting at home and having dinner at a kitchen table with their family.

“If I can spend four hours of my day going shopping and collecting and finding a donation center and dropping it off,” Larsen said, “it seems crazy not to.”

Outside in the parking lot, Angie Morgenstern from the SCV Birth Center on Lyons Avenue in Newhall was loading up several carts of goods to donate. She said the birth center called for donations in a post on social media earlier in the week, and many of their clients responded.

Morgenstern made several trips between her minivan and the Child & Family Center, adding to the collection of goods that was beginning to overflow into an adjoining room in the education building.

According to Buckstead, all items collected at the drive were to be delivered to Baby2Baby on Thursday. Those in need, she added, will be able to go directly to Baby2Baby to pick up what they need.

“Child and Family Center responds to the community anytime there are needs,” Buckstead said. “We were definitely there during the Saugus High shooting that happened, offering support and services to the students and the teachers and the community at that time. We’re just doing the same thing here. While we focus on mental health and substance use and domestic violence, when there’s any natural disaster or emergency event in the community, we want to be able to respond.”

For more information about the drive or to help, contact Cheryl Jones at cheryl.jones@ChildFamilyCenter.org or visit ChildFamilyCenter.org.

Extreme fire conditions remain in the Southern California region as the next set of high winds have prompted a "Particularly Dangerous Situation" red flag warning, weather officials say.

Following a week of destructive wildfires that destroyed thousands of structures and stretched local firefighting capabilities to the maximum, more wind is expected.

A PDS red flag warning is in effect until noon Wednesday for much of Los Angeles and Ventura counties. Areas like the San Gabriel Valley, Santa Clarita Valley, Malibu Coast, Ventura County valleys, San Fernando Valley and 118/210 corridors could experience some of the strongest gusts.

"The Particularly Dangerous Situation designation was designed to be issued once every few years (on average), so some years it may be issued several times and then we may go a few years without one," Dr. Robert Munroe with the NWS Los Angeles said.

A normal red flag warning will remain in effect for many of the same areas until 6 p.m. Wednesday. Damaging northeast to east winds combined with low humidity levels will increase the fire danger.

"We are pretty much going to be under red flag warnings and extreme fire danger until we get that much-needed rain, which we're not getting right now in Southern California," said CBS News Los Angeles Meteorologist Amber Lee.

This classic Santa Ana wind event will bring moderate to strong gusts between 55 and 70 mph, the NWS said.

"While dangerous PDS red flag fire weather conditions are likely with this event early Tuesday morning into Wednesday morning, this wind event is not expected to be as strong and destructive as last week's windstorm," the NWS said.

Overnight a few small brush fires sparked, including the Auto Fire in Ventura County. The blaze has burned 56 acres while forward progress has been stopped with 0% containment, according to the Ventura County Fire Department. Flames were driven by gusts averaging between 20 and 30 mph. Four water-dropping aircraft quickly responded to provide assistance.

Lee said as the week continues much cooler temperatures should arrive.

Weather officials warn residents near wildlands to be aware if a fire breaks out and be ready to evacuate.

The NWS offers tips for residents:

Los Angeles City Fire Chief Kristin Crowley said rapid response teams are prepositioned across Southern California in areas of high concern.

Local and state agencies increased personnel after the Palisades and Eaton fires became some of the most destructive in the state, killing 24 people.

History of Particularly Dangerous Situations in Los Angeles

The Particularly Dangerous Situation alert was created to convey the most extreme red fag warning to first responders and the public. It was issued by the NWS Los Angeles for the first time in 2020.

Weather officials do not use a PDS to predict if a fire will start. They are used to highlight the extremely dangerous environment where rapid fire growth can occur if a blaze ignites.

Within the last few months, the NWS Los Angeles has issued several PDSs in Los Angeles and Ventura counties.

The drought this year has prolonged the fire season, creating more opportunities for red flag warnings, the NWS said.
