Security Guard Company in Pasadena, CA

In today's world, security is an essential component of life. For individuals, that could mean having a firearm available and a plan of action in place if a break-in or other criminal act occurs. Many business owners in California, however, need more than a simple plan. They need a reliable, proven security guard company in Pasadena, CA, that can provide them with the armed or unarmed security needed to stay safe and keep criminals at bay. After all, the reality of running a successful business in California is that nefarious actors will do everything in their power to take what's yours. California's overall violent crime rate increased by 1.7%, from 495 crimes per 100,000 residents in 2022 to 503 in 2023. While property crime fell marginally, violent crimes are up in just about every county of The Golden State.

The next minute, they're up at gunpoint and robbed outside of their storefront. At best, the individual loses money. At worst, they get injured or even die. We've all seen similar on the news. It makes sense, then, that more and more business owners and executives are relying on security guards to protect dispensaries, sporting events, concerts, corporate events, and more.

The peace of mind that comes from having security services is both immediate and enduring. There's simply no substitute for the physical and emotional reassurance of knowing that you are protected-whether it's yourself, your family, your valuables, or your business and its employees. Security officers play a crucial role in providing this sense of safety with their specialized skills, especially in tense or threatening situations. If you're looking for an industry-leading security guard company, look no further than Capital security guard.

When you're looking for a large event to attend, you don't go to a small city in California - you go to LA.

From Coachella to the Academy Awards, Los Angeles and the greater California have more high-profile events than there are palm trees. Security Guards for Cannabis Companies in Pasadena, CA

Running a cannabis dispensary can be both hugely rewarding and sketchy. While there's a huge demand for legally grown cannabis, those who own and operate the stores that sell the plant are often at risk. We're talking vandalism, theft, assault, and other crimes that threaten both customers and employees.

While investing in high-quality security systems can help address these issues, they don't always reduce the likelihood of repeat offenses. This brings us to an important question: Should you hire a security guard for your cannabis dispensary? The short answer is yes. That's true even if you're working there on a daily basis. Why? The truth is that it's very difficult to prevent theft entirely.

Failure to take security measures in your dispensary seriously can lead to significant losses, which can happen quickly. With the increase in daytime crime, potential thieves can easily enter your property and steal products - and that's just the start.

 Security Patrol Pasadena, CA

How Do Armed and Unarmed Security Guards Help Protect Your Cannabis Investment?

Well-trained security guards play a pivotal role in preventing the theft of money and property at your dispensary. They help reduce vandalism and protect against assaults. A guard is skilled in spotting suspicious behavior and addressing potential issues before they escalate. It's important to note that criminals are often deterred by the presence of armed security personnel. Plus, because guards collaborate with local law enforcement, it becomes easier to resolve any crimes that may occur at your cannabis store.

Unlike security cameras, guards provide a more effective visual deterrent. They ensure that everyone adheres to the established rules and regulations. Any misconduct by employees or customers can have serious repercussions for your cannabis dispensary. A trained guard not only prevents unwanted behavior but can also take disciplinary measures or legal action if required.

How Do You Know if You Need Security Guards for Your Dispensary?

If you own a cannabis shop in California, chances are you've worked long hours and invested a lot of money into making it successful. But that success can come at a steep price, especially when criminals see what you're selling. Sure, you've installed locks on your doors and taken basic steps to prevent crime. But modern-day criminals are savvy and know how to get around standard types of security. That's where security guards for cannabis growers in Pasadena, CA, start to make a lot of sense.

Keep the following red flags in mind. If your dispensary is growing, it could be time to hire security.

  • Quick Growth or Increase in Income
  • High Foot Traffic
  • Lots of Public Exposure and Media Attention
  • Location of Your Cannabis Company
  • Physical Accessibility

"I think once you have that environment together, then naturally there's proof of concept, I guess you could say, of being able to go back to it and look at to get better on," Gabriel said. "But I think there's pros and cons for both teams. I think that's just the situation we are in now."

Before the game, Howard talked about that final play and how much he still thinks about it.

"I still have nightmares about that play. I'm thankful that we even get a chance to go out there and play these guys again. The way we lost that game, it still hurts," said Howard.

This is an evolving story. Live updates can be found on Cal Fire’s website and Los Angeles County Fire Department’s X (formerly known as Twitter) page. Residents are advised to charge devices if they still have power to keep in contact with emergency services and receive live updates from trusted sources.

The Eaton Fire is continuing to tear through Pasadena and Altadena on Thursday, Jan. 9, with officials confirming five recorded fatalities. As of this morning, the fire remains at no containment, has grown to over 10,000 acres and has damaged and destroyed over 1,000 structures as of Thursday at 9 a.m. Around 130,000 people have evacuated across Los Angeles County, running from the wildfires scorching the region.

Most of Altadena is under mandatory evacuation, as well as northern Pasadena’s Hastings Ranch neighborhood, Serra Madre, the La Cañada Flintridge and the western half of the Cloverleaf Canyon. Evacuation orders have expanded to eastern Glendale.

Mandatory evacuations mean an immediate threat to life and are a lawful order to leave the area immediately. Water is not safe to drink or treat by oneself, and residents should use bottled water instead.

In a press briefing on Jan. 9, Los Angeles mayor Karen Bass said that the wind continues to “be of a historic nature,” and a major factor in this fire. However, the wind has allowed for air operations to fight the fire.

“Historic winds and extensive drought have created a perfect storm that has driven people from their homes, have taken people homes and have taken people’s lives,” she said.

LA County Fire Chief Anthony Marrone said the Eaton Fire has halted its growth as of Thursday morning but remains at 0% containment. The department has 879 firefighting personnel deployed to assist with this firefight. The cause of the fire remains unknown and is under investigation.

Evacuees may go to the Pasadena Convention Center at 300 East Green Street. Parking is available at a parking structure located at 155 East Green Street, across from the center. Pets can be boarded with the Humane Society, which is available at the site. They can also go to the Arcadia Community Center at 375 Campus Drive.

President Joe Biden approved FEMA’s Major Disaster Declaration for California, making federal funding available to affected individuals in LA County. Individuals and business owners who sustained losses in the area can begin applying for assistance by registering online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov, by calling 1-800-621- 3362 or by using the FEMA App.

As of 7 a.m. on Thursday, five active fires in LA County have grown to more than 29,000 acres. Several schools across the county are closed. The Rose Bowl Aquatics Center is closed.

The Eaton Fire was first reported around 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday near Altadena Drive and Midwick Drive.

California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire) attributes the extreme conditions of the fire to "the combination of low humidity, dry fuels, and shifting winds” that have “heightened the potential for spot fires and rapid expansion.” CalFire urges residents “to remain alert and follow instructions from local authorities as the situation evolves.”

Simultaneously, Palisades Fire is at 0% containment and has exploded, growing to 17,000 acres. It is the most destructive fire to hit LA County, destroying 2,000 structures as of Thursday morning.

"It is safe to say that the Palisades Fire is one of the most destructive natural disasters in the history of Los Angeles,” said LA Fire Chief Kristin Crowley in the press briefing on Thursday.

High winds and low humidity contributed to the growing fire on Wednesday, “placing all residents in Los Angeles County in danger,” said Marrone.

“Please prioritize your safety as well as the wellbeing of those around you as come together to continue to get through this widespread disaster,” he said.

There are reports of power outages across the city and LA County, and water availability and quality has been an issue for residents and firefighters; on Wednesday, the L.A. County Department of Water and Power CEO Janisse Quiñones asked residents to conserve water, so it is available for firefighters.

DoorDash has activated its Severe Weather Protocol, pausing its operation in Santa Monica, Westwood, Brentwood, Calabasas, Pasadena and surrounding areas.

“What is unfolding in Los Angeles is devastating. Our thoughts are with those affected and we are incredibly grateful for the heroic efforts of firefighters and first responders,” said DoorDash spokesperson Julian Crowley.

As of 9 a.m. Thursday, an evacuation order has been issued for all areas of Santa Monica north of Montana Avenue from the beach to 11th Street and all areas north of San Vicente Boulevard. An evacuation warning has been issued for all other areas north of Montana Avenue from 11th Street to 26th Street and all areas north of Wilshire Boulevard between the beach to 10th Street.

The full evacuation map is online at www.santamonica.gov.

There's a historic town in Southern California that's a worthwhile day trip destination — South Pasadena. So, where is South Pasadena, CA? Not to be confused with the larger city of Pasadena to the north, the quieter and lesser-known South Pasadena is a little city that feels like a small town and is full of history. This historic town in Southern California was in 1888 and comprises just three and a half square miles. Despite its size and general lack of recognition, there is much to see and so many things to do, from historic landmarks and beautiful parks to great food and shopping. Here's what you can expect when you visit South Pasadena, CA:

The main street of Fair Oaks Avenue, just a few blocks long, as well as Mission Street and El Centro Street which cross it, are full of local businesses, many of which occupy quaint historic buildings. There are some 50 designated local historic landmarks, aside from the many historic residential homes.

If you're looking for things to do in South Pasadena, CA, you can drive around or explore on foot to discover cool architecture, antique and gift shops, diverse cafes and restaurants, bakeries, boutique shops, art galleries, coffee houses, and more.

It is worth spending a little time driving through the residential streets as well, where you will see gorgeous homes with huge manicured yards that seem to be right out of a storybook. You will also come to appreciate why South Pasadena is also called the City of Trees.

If you enjoy the great outdoors, there are also city parks, such as Garfield Park, where you can get out and relax in a green space.

The beautifully preserved Rialto Theatre originally opened in 1925 for movies and vaudeville and is one of the last one-screen theaters left in SoCal. Now leased by Mosaic South Pasadena, the theater has been seen in movies such as La La Land, The Rocketeer, and Scream 2. It is also listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

It may be worth scheduling your day in town on a Thursday so you can explore the South Pasadena Farmer’s Market. The open-air market is open all year from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursdays and features a wide variety of local produce, freshly cooked foods, baked goods, handicrafts, and boutique vendors.

While this may only be of interest to certain generations, it is a fun thing to see one famous house in town. Located in a simple neighborhood, a house on Oxley Street was chosen by director Tim Burton to be Pee-Wee Herman’s home in the 1985 film, "Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure." Only the front of the home was used and it is a private residence, so you can only view this piece of Hollywood history from out front. Do you remember that film?

The first library building, built in 1907 and expanded in 1930, is now the Library Community Room. The library hosts a variety of community and cultural events and activities such as concerts, silent film screenings, a Winter Arts Crawl, talks, and workshops.

If you visit the library, step across the street to Kaldi Coffee & Tea. The iconic brick building, which was once a bank building, is one of South Pasadena’s Cultural Heritage Landmarks and has been used as a filming spot for TV shows and movies since it opened in 1995. Kaldi serves up wonderful lattes, teas, and seasonal drinks, plus food and pastries.

One of the intriguing things about South Pasadena is the eclectic mix of the old and historic with the new and innovative. The Munch Company is a longtime part of the city’s food scene that is now presenting the population with an innovative take on a classic sandwich.

You can order an updated classic like a Pastrami sandwich which has hot pastrami, melted Swiss cheese, seeded slaw, and garlic aioli served on toasted bread. Yum! Or go for something really unique like the TV Dinner sandwich, the Turkey Fig and Brie, or the Green Monster. Kids can order PB and J, a Cheese Melt, or the very pretty Unicorn Sandwich made with peanut butter, marshmallow fluff, and sprinkles.

Stop in for one of the absolute best milkshakes in Southern California at the historic Fair Oaks Pharmacy and Soda Fountain. There's also Union Bakery where you can pick up sandwiches, pastries, bread, and more. As you can see, there are plenty of incredible dining options here in South Pasadena, CA.
