Security Guard Company in Santa Clarita, CA

Union

In today's world, security is an essential component of life. For individuals, that could mean having a firearm available and a plan of action in place if a break-in or other criminal act occurs. Many business owners in California, however, need more than a simple plan. They need a reliable, proven security guard company in Santa Clarita, CA, that can provide them with the armed or unarmed security needed to stay safe and keep criminals at bay. After all, the reality of running a successful business in California is that nefarious actors will do everything in their power to take what's yours. California's overall violent crime rate increased by 1.7%, from 495 crimes per 100,000 residents in 2022 to 503 in 2023. While property crime fell marginally, violent crimes are up in just about every county of The Golden State.

The next minute, they're up at gunpoint and robbed outside of their storefront. At best, the individual loses money. At worst, they get injured or even die. We've all seen similar on the news. It makes sense, then, that more and more business owners and executives are relying on security guards to protect dispensaries, sporting events, concerts, corporate events, and more.

The peace of mind that comes from having security services is both immediate and enduring. There's simply no substitute for the physical and emotional reassurance of knowing that you are protected-whether it's yourself, your family, your valuables, or your business and its employees. Security officers play a crucial role in providing this sense of safety with their specialized skills, especially in tense or threatening situations. If you're looking for an industry-leading security guard company, look no further than Capital security guard.

Security Guards for Cannabis Companies in Santa Clarita, CA

Union

Running a cannabis dispensary can be both hugely rewarding and sketchy. While there's a huge demand for legally grown cannabis, those who own and operate the stores that sell the plant are often at risk. We're talking vandalism, theft, assault, and other crimes that threaten both customers and employees.

While investing in high-quality security systems can help address these issues, they don't always reduce the likelihood of repeat offenses. This brings us to an important question: Should you hire a security guard for your cannabis dispensary? The short answer is yes. That's true even if you're working there on a daily basis. Why? The truth is that it's very difficult to prevent theft entirely.

Failure to take security measures in your dispensary seriously can lead to significant losses, which can happen quickly. With the increase in daytime crime, potential thieves can easily enter your property and steal products - and that's just the start.

How Do Armed and Unarmed Security Guards Help Protect Your Cannabis Investment?

Well-trained security guards play a pivotal role in preventing the theft of money and property at your dispensary. They help reduce vandalism and protect against assaults. A guard is skilled in spotting suspicious behavior and addressing potential issues before they escalate. It's important to note that criminals are often deterred by the presence of armed security personnel. Plus, because guards collaborate with local law enforcement, it becomes easier to resolve any crimes that may occur at your cannabis store.

Unlike security cameras, guards provide a more effective visual deterrent. They ensure that everyone adheres to the established rules and regulations. Any misconduct by employees or customers can have serious repercussions for your cannabis dispensary. A trained guard not only prevents unwanted behavior but can also take disciplinary measures or legal action if required.

How Do You Know if You Need Security Guards for Your Dispensary?

If you own a cannabis shop in California, chances are you've worked long hours and invested a lot of money into making it successful. But that success can come at a steep price, especially when criminals see what you're selling. Sure, you've installed locks on your doors and taken basic steps to prevent crime. But modern-day criminals are savvy and know how to get around standard types of security. That's where security guards for cannabis growers in Santa Clarita, CA, start to make a lot of sense.

Keep the following red flags in mind. If your dispensary is growing, it could be time to hire security.

  • Quick Growth or Increase in Income
  • High Foot Traffic
  • Lots of Public Exposure and Media Attention
  • Location of Your Cannabis Company
  • Physical Accessibility

Castaic resident on evacuating: 'The urgency is definitely there'

Thousands of residents in the Castaic area were forced to flee their homes as the Hughes Fire quickly grew in size Wednesday, and some said the recent destruction left by the Palisades and Eaton fires gave them a sense of urgency.

"The urgency is definitely there. You think you're ready, but you're never ready. You're never really ready to go," said resident David Monroe. "... It hits you fast."

Among the items he paced: family mementos, pictures and his two dogs. His wife was unable to get past the road closures and to the house to help.

Still, he waited back a bit to see how the situation developed.

"If I see embers, I'm gone... We've done this before. We've been evacuated before... I'll be ready to go."

The Hughes Fire has burned at least 5,0054 acres.

Fast-moving blaze near Castaic Lake scorches nearly 10,000 acres in a matter of hours

By Signal Staff

A fast-moving brush fire that started near Castaic Lake shortly after 10:40 a.m. Wednesday forced the evacuation of approximately 30,000 residents, with another 20,000 under evacuation warnings.

Los Angeles County Fire Department and Angeles National Forest Service have 4,000 firefighting personnel battling the blaze, which was estimated to be over 9,400 acres at 5% containment as of Wednesday night. Thousands of structures were threatened, but none had been reported lost as of Wednesday evening.

“The situation remains dynamic, and the fire remains a difficult fire to contain, although we are getting the upper hand,” said L.A. County Fire Chief Anthony C. Marrone at a press conference held at College of the Canyons on Wednesday evening.

The blaze, being called the Hughes Fire, spread quickly along both sides of Lake Hughes Road to the northeast of the lake, and radio dispatch traffic shortly after 11 a.m. indicated spot fires were popping up near the Ridge Route, approaching Interstate 5, prompting evacuations of residences, businesses and schools in the Castaic area.

“It is continuing to grow,” Deputy Robert Jensen of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, said Wednesday afternoon around 1:30 p.m., adding that as of that time there were 20,000 residents in areas under evacuation order, with another 16,000 under evacuation warning. There were more than 6,000 structures threatened and 3,500 more were being considered for evacuation, a figure expected to grow, Jensen said Wednesday afternoon.

L.A. County Sheriff Robert Luna reported that, as of 5 p.m., 31,000 people had been affected by evacuation orders, with 23,000 people impacted by evacuation warnings.

Marrone reported that no structures had been lost as they switched to their night plan on how to battle the fire.

He said that overnight firefighters would be working on getting more perimeter control, making sure hotspots are put out, and focusing on having enough resources in staging in case of a flare-up.

Red Cross volunteers said that that a shelter has been set up at the Valencia College of the Canyons campus in the East Gym, located at 26455 Rockwell Canyon Road. They will be providing safety, comfort, food, and water to anyone who has been impacted by the fire.

A temporary shelter-reunification center had been set up at both Valencia High School and The Cube, the city-run ice rink that’s across the street from the high school. Those places were being used until a more permanent location can be established.

A temporary evacuation point also had been set up at Hart High School, but all evacuees were moved to COC.

At 2:13 p.m. on Wednesday, ANF officials posted an updated evacuation order for the neighborhoods of Reyes Adobe, Francisquito, Tesoro Del Valle, Bitter Canyon, Sterling Lane, Sterling, Biscailuz and Charlie Canyon.

Castaic Sports Complex and Paradise Ranch Mobile Home Park were placed under evacuation order as of 11:20 a.m.

North Lake Hills Elementary was also being evacuated just after 11:30 a.m., according to Charmin Ortega, executive assistant to the superintendent of the Castaic Union School District.

Castaic High School, Castaic Middle School and Castaic Elementary School were all listed as being under evacuation orders as of 11:40 a.m.

Later Wednesday afternoon, the Castaic district sent a message to families that all campuses would be closed on Thursday. Santa Clarita Valley International is also set to be closed on Thursday.

Castaic Middle and elementary schools were being evacuated to the Ralphs parking lot at Hasley Canyon Road, while North Lake was being evacuated to the Castaic Sports Complex, according to the CHP Newhall-area office.

“As many of you may know, a vegetation fire is currently burning on the east side of Castaic Lake,” reads an alert sent by the William S. Hart Union High School District to Castaic High families. “We have been reassured by our law enforcement and fire partners that the school is currently not in any danger. Out of an abundance of caution, and as a result of poor air conditions, we will be ceasing all school activities for the day immediately. Students will be dismissed to leave at 11:40 a.m. “For any students who are not able to be picked up, we have buses coming at this time to transport students to West Ranch High School. We will notify all families once those buses leave so you will know where to pick your child up.”

In a message sent to the entire Hart district community just after 12:30 p.m., families were alerted that no other schools were in warning areas but that officials were “closely monitoring the situation and air quality” and updates would be provided as necessary.

Valencia High and Rio Norte Junior High were eventually put under an evacuation warning, but after dismissal time, according to an alert sent to families and staff.

“Both schools have reached dismissal time and all after school activities are canceled. We will provide further information before the start of school tomorrow,” the alert read.

Later in the day, the Hart district announced several schools would be closed Thursday: Castaic High School, Valencia High School, Rio Norte Junior High School and Academy of the Canyons.

Saugus Union School District Superintendent Colleen Hawkins said the district has notified parents “out of an abundance of caution” that classes were cancelled Wednesday at Tesoro Del Valle and West Creek elementary schools. The district’s Child Development Program is closed for the day.

Both the College of the Canyons Valencia campus and Canyon Country campus were closed and on-ground classes have been canceled for Wednesday, according to Wendy Trujillo, spokeswoman for the college and part of the incident command team. She said the college will be serving as a Red Cross evacuation center.

Online classes are still set to be held, Trujillo said.

The COC board of trustees meeting set for Wednesday was canceled, as was the Saugus district’s asset management advisory committee meeting.

Trinity Classical Academy had parents pick students up starting just before noon, though the school was not in an evacuation zone at the time, according to school officials. The school is also set to be closed on Thursday and all athletic events are canceled.

Road closures have also been put into effect, according to a post from the Angeles National Forest on X at noon. They are as follows:

Interstate 5 had been shut down between the Grapevine and State Route 126 as of 2:23 p.m., according to the CHP Newhall-area office.

“Due to the Hughes Fire in Castaic, the I-5 through the Grapevine will be closed for an unknown duration,” reads a post on X from the office. “The closures will be in place at SR-126 for northbound traffic and at Grapevine Road for southbound traffic. Use Quickmap or Google Maps to find alternate routes.”

As of 5 p.m., Luna said the I-5 would be opened going both ways but there would be limited access to:

The incident was initially reported as near Lake Hughes Road and Dry Gulch Road, but closer to Castaic Lake than Lake Elizabeth, according to radio dispatch traffic.

Initial radio dispatch reports indicated the fire quickly reached 50-100 acres and was crossing Lake Hughes Road.

L.A. County Fire Department personnel were dispatched to battle the fire at 10:39 a.m., according to Luis Garcia, a spokesman with the department’s media information line, adding the location is near Interstate 5.

An evacuation order was placed for Castaic Lake as of 11:08 a.m. Evacuation warnings were posted on protect.genasys.com, according to Jensen.

Dana Dierkes, public affairs officer for the Angeles National Forest, said firefighters were responding to the incident off Lake Hughes Road, north of Castaic Reservoir Road in Castaic.

The Route Fire erupted in August 2022 in a similar area near Castaic Lake and eventually burned 5,208 acres over multiple days, according to the Department of Forestry and Fire Protection website.

Jan 23 (Reuters) - Firefighters stopped the expansion of a new wildfire north of Los Angeles on Thursday after it spread rapidly, as California Governor Gavin Newsom signed a $2.5 billion relief package for the fire-devastated region.

The Hughes Fire, about 50 miles (80 km) north of Los Angeles, broke out on Wednesday as emergency services continued to battle two fires on the city's eastern and western flanks that have burned for more than two weeks.

The Hughes Fire quickly burned some 10,176 acres (41 square km), but that figure held steady throughout the day as 4,000 firefighters dropped water and retardant from the air and used hand tools and hoses on the ground.

Containment, a measure of the perimeter that is under control, grew to 24%, up from 14% earlier in the day, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire) said on its website.

The Hughes Fire had led to evacuation orders for 31,000 residents and evacuation warnings for a further 16,000 people as it sent plumes of smoke over hilly terrain in the Castaic Lake area near Santa Clarita.

Firefighters contended with strong winds and low humidity that were expected to persist throughout Friday. Rain and mountain snow has been forecast for the Los Angeles area from Saturday to Monday, which could bring some relief but also create other risks.

"Impacts will likely be minimal, except for the small but non-zero threat of a thunderstorm moving over a burn area," the National Weather Service warned.

The rain could cause mudslides, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass warned during a news conference on Wednesday, saying the city was taking "aggressive action" by installing barriers, removing fire debris and diverting stormwater.

In the metropolitan area, Eaton and Palisades fires burned for the 17th consecutive day after incinerating entire neighborhoods, killing 28 people and damaging or destroying nearly 16,000 structures.

The Eaton Fire was 95% contained and the Palisades Fire 72% contained, Cal Fire said.

A series of smaller fires have also menaced the area including the Sepulveda Fire, which began early Thursday morning and burned along the 405 freeway near the Getty Center museum - home to numerous art treasures. The brush fire, which has blazed through 45 acres and was 60% contained, briefly caused part of the heavily traveled highway to be closed and forced some evacuations.

California's bipartisan package of state relief was announced by Newsom as President Donald Trump was scheduled to the state on Friday to survey the fire damage.

The state aid will pay for ongoing operations, disaster recovery, debris removal and other works. Billions more dollars of federal aid will be needed for a disaster that private forecaster AccuWeather has estimated could cost more than $250 billion damage and economic losses.

Trump, speaking in a Fox News interview on Wednesday, threatened to shut off federal funding unless California altered its water management.

"I don't think we should give California anything until they let water flow," Trump said during the interview at the White House.

Trump's criticisms of California water management are completely unrelated to the issues surrounding the potential cause of and response to the fires, Newsom said.

For example, Trump said California conservation efforts in the northern part of the state were responsible for fire hydrants running dry around Los Angeles - a misstatement or misunderstanding of what happened when three local reservoirs in the Palisades area ran out of water as firefighters tackled the fire.

"The State Water Project has nothing to do with water supply as relates to fire suppression for municipal systems," Newsom told a press conference. "It's very damaging when people believe such misinformation."

The Hughes Fire exploded to more than 5,000 acres in a matter of hours on Wednesday, creating yet another threat to SoCal residents still reeling from the damage caused by the Palisades and Eaton Fires.

First responders with the Angeles National Forest and the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's office quickly issued evacuation orders and warnings for evacuation zones.

You can check whether you live, work or attend school in a zone that is under an evacuation order or evacuation warning by going to this website.

Red zones on the map are under evacuation orders, meaning there is an immediate threat to your life in those areas. People in those areas must leave immediately, and no one other than first responders can enter.

Yellow zones on the map are under evacuation warnings. There is potential threat to life and property. People in those areas do not need to leave immediately, but anyone who would need extra time under an evacuation order, or people with pets and livestock, should take it as a sign to leave immediately.
